On Saturday January 23rd in Covington Kentucky Premier MMA Championship will return to action for our first live event since the coronavirus pandemic started and will present a night full of exciting fights including a light heavyweight bout between former Western Kentucky University football standout Derik Overstreet and former Urbana University and Notre Dame of Ohio wrestling standout Dylan Budka.
Dylan Budka who is training out of the Demolition Fight Team in Ohio and originally from Baltimore Maryland will be making his MMA debut when he steps inside the Premier MMA cage on January 23rd and while this may be his first taste of action inside the cage the standout wrestler also holds a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blue belt and boasts a 2-0 amateur boxing record has been preparing himself for this moment for quite some time, the “Mindless Hulk” has a list of accomplishments according to his Urbana University bio including Senior year elite heavyweight national champion, High School All American wrestler, 1st team all county and 1st team all regional, National Champion, Regional Champion, County Champion, Best of the Nest Champion, Hav Ed Grace Champion, Outstanding Wrestler Award, Blanche Drennan outstanding Male Athlete Award, All American and State placer with a career record of 87-5. When Dylan decided it was time to make his debut inside the cage he requested to do so against the toughest competition possible and that’s exactly what Premier MMA Championship offered in 3-1 Derik Overstreet.
Derik Overstreet originally from Paducah KY now residing in Bowling Green KY and trains out of Nashville MMA will enter the cage for his fifth amateur fight and his first under the Premier MMA banner currently holding a MMA record of 3 wins with just 1 loss and a perfect 2-0 kickboxing record. The former Western Kentucky University football star and social activist who finished his college football career with 79 solo tackles and 11 sacks in 49 games playing defensive end and being elected captain in his senior year made his debut inside the MMA cage in March of 2019 and competed in all four of his fights within an 8 month time period will be returning to action after a 14 month layoff with the focus on adding another notch in the win column as he works towards the goal of becoming a professional fighter when he meets Dylan Budka.
