Meet Premier MMA Championship’s Josh Green

Premier MMA Championship is set to take place on Saturday April 8th with a night full of live MMA featuring some of the best up and coming talent as well as established veterans in the entire Midwest region.

Some of the athletes that will be featured on the April 8th fight card took a few moments out of their training to give you,the fans a little background on who they are and give you their thoughts on their upcoming fight at Premier MMA Championship.

Q- Tell the fans your name?-

A-Josh Green

Q- Your Home Town?-

A-Middletown, OH

Q- What gym do you train with? –

A-My home gym was Shinkin Martial Arts in Hamilton, OH. But Ive been traveling to different gyms all over the area for certain classes or open sparring, for quite some time now. I go wherever I can get good work in.

Q- What made you start competing in MMA? –

A- A little over a year ago, I was going through a really rough time over some personal matters. I needed something I could devote myself to and something I could do to take my mind off of things. My friend who I met a couple months prior was an amateur fighter and invited me to his gym to train. I said okay because I used to do muay thai classes and wrestled as a kid. So I thought why not give mma a try. So I started doing full mma almost everyday and by the end of the year, I was competing in the sport.

Q- How do you feel like you match up with your opponent on April 8th? –

A- I believe we will match up well. I saw him fight February 11th and he seemed to have similar stand up to me. And I’m guessing we have been training around the same amount of time so yeah I think it will be a very good fight.

Q- How do you predict the fight will end? and in what round? –

A-I honestly can’t predict that. Fights are so unpredictable. It could be over in the 1st round or it could go to a 3 round decision. I’m hoping it will end sooner than later. But you can never predict that.

Q- Why should fans come out to see you compete? –

A-Because I put my blood, sweat, and tears into this sport and give it my all everytime I step foot in the cage. And always will put on a good show for the crowd. Win, lose, or draw. The crowd will definitely get their money’s worth. I can guarantee that.

Q- If there was one thing you can say to your opponent about your fight on April 8th, what would that be?

A– He’s got some pretty killer tattoos, haha. I don’t have any myself. But if I were to get one I wouldn’t mind going to where he got his done at. His work looks very proffessional.

Q- What has been the most memorable moment of your MMA career? –

A- I guess in my first fight when my opponent had me in a submission for what it seemed like over 2 minutes and by the grace of God I escaped out of it. Everyone was expecting me to tap as soon as he got it locked and I just kept fighting it and fighting it. I don’t think anyone expected I would go that long. Especially making it all 3 rounds. So that was pretty extraordinary.

Q- What is your favorite MMA moment as a fan? –

A-Probably seeing Brock Lesnar getting TKOD be Alistair Overeem back years ago with my dad. I can remember watching that at BWW and how shocked everyone was at the upset. It was definatly a night to remember.

Q- When your not at the gym training what is your favorite hobby to keep yourself busy? –

A- Honestly just run or lift weights. If my friends are at the bar, I like to play a few rounds of pool with them. My family also plays a lot of pool so that definitely takes my mind off things when I’m not training.

Q- Outside of MMA what type of job do you have? –

A- As of right now, Hot Head Burritos

Q- When your in the gym training, or just working out what artist or music gets you in a zone? –

A- I can get into almost all types of music during training honestly. But I guess my favorite type of music to listen to would have to be like metal or 90s rap. That definitely gets me in the zone haha.

Q- In closing the forum is yours, you have the freedom to say whatever you would like –

A- I would just like to say, I’m very blessed to be here fighting on the April 8th card. I could not have done any of this without my teammates and coaches this past year. Thank you to them and thank you to all of my family, friends, and fans that support me. I will not leave any of you disappointed.
