Meet Premier MMA Championship 7 Fighter Yoko Kowaas

 

Premier MMA Championship is set to take place on Saturday April 14th at the all new Hits Sports & Entertainment Complex in Covington Kentucky presenting a night full of live MMA featuring some of the best up and coming future stars of the sport, as well as the best un-signed and established veterans in the entire Midwest region.

Some of the athletes who you will see compete inside the cage on April 14th took a few moments out of their training to give you, the fans a little background on who they are and give you their thoughts on their upcoming fight at Premier MMA Championship.

A-Yoko Kowaas

A-32

Q- Your Home Town?

A-Cincinnati Ohio

 

Q- What gym do you train with?

A-JKD Unlimited Cincinnati

 

Q-Favorite Training Partner?

A-All my training partners are well rounded and push me to be better.

 

Q- How long have you been training?

A-I lost count, somewhere around six or seven years now.

 

Q-BJJ/TKD/Wrestling experience/Belt Level?

A-Muay Thai, Kali, Silat, Boxing

Rank: Jeet Kune Do/MMA FTS level 3a, Blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Battlefield Kali level 1, and Brown belt black stripe in Taekwondo

 

Q-When did you make your MMA debut?

A-August 2015

 

Q- What made you start competing in MMA?

A-I wanted to test myself.

 

Q- How do you feel like you match up with your opponent on April 14th?

A-It’s a great match up.

 

Q- How do you predict the fight will end? and in what round?

A-I’m prepared for wherever this fight goes and to leave it all in the cage.

 

Q- Why should fans come out to see you compete?

A-Everyone should come out and support women’s MMA, and all the local fighters!

 

Q- What has been the most memorable moment of your MMA career?

A-The first time I had to cut weight

 

Q- What is your favorite MMA moment as a fan?

A-Being cage side watching the fights when the UFC came to Cincinnati for Fight Night 40 Brown vs Silva.

 

Q- When you’re not at the gym training what is your favorite hobby to keep yourself busy?

A-Training keeps me very busy.  When I’m not training I’m spending time with family, friends, and my dogs.

 

Q- Outside of MMA what type of job do you have?

A-I work for an industrial software company.

 

Q- When you’re in the gym training, or just working out what artist or music gets you in a zone?

A-My workout playlist is pretty diverse. I’ll put anything on my playlist that gets me motivated, but everyone that knows me knows I’m a huge Beyoncé fan

 

Q-What is your favorite quote?

A-“It’s the space between the notes that makes the music”

 

Q-What is your all-time favorite movie?

A-Predator

 

Q-Who is your favorite actor/actress?

A-Robin Williams

 

Q-What is your all-time favorite song?

A-The Chain by Fleetwood Mac

 

Q-Who is your favorite music artist?

A-I have a lot, but definitely Beyoncé
