Meet Premier MMA Championship 12 Fighter Nick “Smiley” Wells

Premier MMA Championship is set to take place on Saturday May 18th at the Hits Entertainment Complex in Covington Kentucky presenting a night full of live MMA featuring some of the best up and coming future stars of the sport including Nick Wells as he steps inside the Premier MMA Championship cage in a fight to determine the number 1 contender to the Premier MMA Championship Lightweight Title.

Some of the athletes who you will see compete inside the cage on May 18th took a few moments out of their training to give you, the fans a little background on who they are and give you their thoughts on their upcoming fight at Premier MMA Championship.

Q- Tell the fans your name?

A-Nick “Smiley” Wells  

Q-Age?

A-21, 22 March 31st  

Q- Record?

A-4-2  

Q- Your Home Town?

A-Sardinia Ohio  

Q- What gym do you train with?

A-Immortal Way MMA   

Q-Favorite Training Partner?

A-Tough one, gotta be Jeff Mack  

Q- How long have you been training?

A-Since I was 12, so about 10 years  

Q-BJJ/TKD/Wrestling experience/Belt Level?

A-4 time high school varsity wrestler  

Q-When did you make your MMA debut?

A-When I was 18, July 16th 2016  

Q- What made you start competing in MMA?

A-I fell in love with the sport and wanted to compete after high school wrestling   

Q- How do you feel like you match up with your opponent on May 18th?

A-I’m not the disrespectful type so I feel like it can be a war, and whoever imposes their will, will win.  

Q- How do you predict the fight will end? and in what round?

A-No disrespect by any means but In a perfect world 1st round ko/tko, but I’ll take any kind of finish any chance I get in any round, and if it’s a 3 round war then so be it.  

Q- Why should fans come out to see you compete at Premier MMA Championship on May 18th in Covington Kentucky?

A-I do my best to always make my fights exciting, I love to make my fights turn into battles or wars. Something fans like to see.  

Q- If there was one thing you can say to your opponent about your fight on May 18th, what would that be?

A-Good luck to you, may the best man win. I’m looking forward to go to war with you.  

Q- What has been the most memorable moment of your MMA journey?

A-Honestly, my second fight when I took my opponent down and split my head open against the cage all the way to the skull. Lots and lots of blood, the crowd went crazy and after the fight I had so many people wanting pictures and to talk to me, it was pretty cool because I enjoy knowing the crowd enjoyed the fight.  

Q- What is your favorite MMA moment as a fan?

A-Seeing MMA grow into one of the biggest sports in the world and finally able to see MMA fights at Madison Square garden 

Q- Who is your all-time favorite MMA fighter? and why?

A-Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, because he will fight anyone anywhere anytime  

Q- When you’re not at the gym training what is your favorite hobby to keep yourself busy?

A-Hunting, fishing, and camping, 3 way tie.  

Q- Outside of MMA what type of job do you have?

A-I’m a framer/carpenter   

Q- When you’re in the gym training, or just working out what artist or music gets you in a zone?

A-I love rock but it dont matter I can train to any music, but something with good rhythm. I really like Pantera, Tool, Metallica, hard rock kind of music.  

Q-Who is your favorite music group or artist?

A-The band Tool   

Q-What is your favorite movie?

A-Tough one, gotta say Lawless or deadpool  

Q-Who is your favorite actor/actress?

A-Tom Hardy  

Q-What’s your favorite color?

A-Gotta go with Black and red   

Q-What is your “go to” meal after weigh-In’s?

A-A chicken breast, banana, and some watermelon.  

Q-What’s your favorite quote?

A-In the course of battle, there could be a million different reasons to give up. you just need to find that one reason to stay in there. to stay in the fire.   

Q- In closing the forum is yours, you have the freedom to say whatever you would like

A-I’d like to say this last thing. Every single time I step into the cage I have and always will do my best to put on an exciting fight for the fans, I’m only getting better and more comfortable the more I step in there. The more I compete the harder I train. I will always show up on fight night, win lose or draw I will always go out there and perform and put on a damn good show for all the people paying to watch some fights!
